IGA, Mie -- Newly appointed Iga Municipal Government officials were made to wear ninja costumes and go out to visit nursery schools in the city to promote its ninja festival. The seven government officials who started working for the city from April donned costumes of the city's ninja characters, Ninta and Shinobu. "I want promote our events," said Kenta Nakabayashi, 19, one of the newly appointed government officials dressed in a ninja outfit. City officials make new staff wear the costumes as part of their training with the aim of promoting the Iga Ueno Ninja Festa, an annual ninja-themed festival the city holds. During a visit to the Shironami Municipal Nursery Center, the costume-clad government officials took photos with some of the delighted 54 children being cared for at the facility.
