Professional boxer Mikio Takeuchi, a Chinese national, lost his fight to survive, dying Sunday night in a Tokyo hospital where he had been in a coma since suffering a brain hemorrhage in a May 3 fight, hospital officials said. He was 22. Takeuchi, of Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture, fell unconscious after being defeated in a match on May 3, and underwent surgery. Takeuchi is the grandson of a Japanese national left behind in China at the end of World War II. He arrived in Japan with his family when he was 6.
