CHIBA -- A drunk official at a Tokyo taxation office was arrested Saturday for hitting a railway station worker, police said. Nihonbashi Taxation Office official Toshiaki Yada, 56, stands accused of assault. At around 2 a.m., Yada fell asleep in men's restroom of JR Makuhari Station in Hanamigawa-ku, Chiba, while drunk. A 47-year-old station worker asked him to get out of the restroom and he responded by punching the victim, local police said. Other station workers overpowered Yada and handed him over to police officers. The victim was apparently not injured in the incident. Yada was on his way home, according to investigators.
