YOKOHAMA -- A former police assistant inspector has been given a life sentence by a court here for killing his mother-in-law by dousing her in kerosene and setting her ablaze. Seiji Sakamoto, 62, the former policeman from Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, was found guilty by the Yokohama District Court of murder and willful destruction of property through arson and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
