KUWANA, Mie -- A former railway worker has been arrested for stabbing an assistant station master at the station office in mid-May, leaving him with serious injuries, police said. Toshio Tsujioka, 56, a former worker at Kinki Nippon Railway's Kuwana Station, stands accused of attempted murder and robbery. Tsujioka had worked at the station for 22 years, and was familiar with its internal affairs, investigators said. He has denied any murderous intent during questioning. In the predawn hours of May 12, the victim, 57-year-old Hideaki Ogura, who was on night duty, caught Tsujioka ransacking through the Kuwana Station office in a bid to steal money, local police said. Tsujioka threatened Ogura with a knife. The suspect stabbed the assistant station master after he resisted. Ogura suffered serious injuries that took four weeks to heal.
