SAGA -- Prosecutors have demanded a yakuza under indictment for fatally shooting a hospital inpatient after mistaking the victim as a rival gangster spend the rest of his life behind bars. "The victim was not at fault at all. It was an extremely vicious crime based on his firm murderous intent," a prosecutor said during a hearing at the Saga District Court. Fumio Imada, 61, the yakuza belonging to an affiliate of the Dojin-kai crime syndicate, is under indictment for murdering Hiroshi Miyamoto, 34, at a hospital in Takeo, Saga Prefecture, in November last year. Imada mistook Miyamoto, a sheet metal worker, as a gangster who had previously occupied the same hospital room. Copyright 2005-2006 THE MAINICHI NEWSPAPERS. All rights reserved.
