Saturday, 29 September 2007

Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda and his Chinese counterpart, Wen Jiabao, exchanged congratulatory messages on Saturday that marks the 35th anniversary of normalizing bilateral diplomatic relations, government officials said.

"We have renewed our determination to cooperate with China in contributing to peace, stability and the development of Asia as well as the world in a constructive manner," Fukuda's message to Wen partly reads.

"The China-Japan relationship is at a phase when our two countries should build strategically reciprocal relations. We hope that we will promote the development (of bilateral relations)," Wen's message says.
