NAGOYA -- A man who tried to use the Chunichi Dragons' Japan Series victory parade as a distraction while stealing from a celebrating fan has been arrested, police said. Nobuyuki Matsuda, 32, unemployed of no fixed address, was arrested for theft after he allegedly tried to steal from the handbag of a woman watching the weekend parade to mark the Nagoya team's first Japan Series win in 54 years. Police said Matsuda approached the woman from behind, undid the zipper on her handbag and stole her purse from inside it.
