SHINGU, Fukuoka -- A metal screw has been found in a rice ball sold at a convenience store, its manufacturer said. A woman who recently bought the rice ball at a convenience store in Chikushino, Fukuoka Prefecture, noticed the metal screw before eating it, and was not injured. The rice ball was one of those produced at the Nihon Delica Fresh factory in Shingu on Feb. 22, company officials said. The screw, measuring 2 centimeters long and 5 to 10 millimeters thick had come off an assembly line. Copyright 2005-2006 THE MAINICHI NEWSPAPERS. All rights reserved.
