TSU -- The Mie Prefectural Government issued an indefinite business suspension order on Friday against traditional sweet manufacturer Akafuku, after learning that the company froze and repackaged sweets that were returned or not sold. Prefectural government officials conducted an emergency inspection of the factory at Akafuku's headquarters on Thursday. They later decided to issue an indefinite business suspension order against the company. The move came after Akafuku held a news conference Thursday admitting that sweets that could not be sold or that were returned were frozen, and after they were thawed, they were repackaged and shipped out again.
