A Tokyo schoolgirl has received minor injuries after a man in Sumida-ku slashed her with a paper cutter and fled, police said. The 13-year-old junior high school girl escaped with only a minor arm wound following the sudden attack on Tuesday night. Police said her attacker was aged in his 30s to 40s and stands somewhere from 170 centimeters to 180 centimeters tall. He was wearing a black jacket, jeans and a black, woolen hat at the time of the attack. Police said the attacker got under the guard of the girl by approaching her and pretending to be asking for directions in an area about 400 meters north of JR Kinshicho Station at about 8 p.m. on Tuesday. When he got close enough, he suddenly pulled out the paper cutter, slashed the girl on the arm and ran away, police said. The investigation continues. Copyright 2005-2006 THE MAINICHI NEWSPAPERS.
