TODA, Saitama -- A nail has been found stuck in ham package sold at a discount store here, police said. At around 4 p.m. on Monday, a customer at the Rogers Toda outlet in Toda found a nail stuck in one of the packages of ham on a shelf at the store and alerted an employee. The store reported the incident to police about an hour later. Officers who examined the package confirmed that the 1.2-centimeter nail pierced through four slices of ham. Local police are searching for the culprit on suspicion of forcible obstruction of business. The ham was produced by Nippon Meat Packers, Inc., a leading ham and sausage manufacturer.
