SAPPORO -- A needle has been found in a cabbage sold at a supermarket here, police said. Police are investigating the case on suspicion of forcible obstruction of business. The 48-year-old male manager of the Miyanosawa outlet of Seiyu supermarket in Sapporo's Nishi-ku contacted police, saying, "A needle was found in a cabbage we sold," at around 11:05 p.m. on Monday, according to local police. The cabbage arrived at the store on Saturday last week and was bought by a female customer on Monday. When she cut open the cabbage with a kitchen knife at home, she found a broken needle inside of it and reported it to the supermarket. Copyright 2005-2006 THE MAINICHI NEWSPAPERS.
