OSAKA -- An unemployed Osaka man has been arrested for the murder of his younger brother, saying he killed his sibling to prevent being fatally attacked himself, police said. Shinichi Ono, 47, of Yodogawa-ku, was arrested for the murder of his 45-year-old brother, Yoshihiro. Ono admits to the allegations. "My little brother was drunk and threatened to kill me as he waved a knife at me, so I got in first and stabbed him before he could get me," Ono told the police. Police said Ono stabbed his brother into the chest with a survival knife at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, killing him. Ono called the police immediately after the attack. Officers arrived on the scene and arrested him for attempted murder, upgrading the charge to murder after the younger Ono was confirmed dead. Copyright 2005-2006 THE MAINICHI NEWSPAPERS.
