SAKAIDE, Kagawa -- Kiyoshi Yamashita has told reporters of the pain and anguish he felt upon learning his two pre-school daughters are dead. "I only wanted them to be alive," the 43-year-old father said, referring to his daughters, 5-year-old Akane and 3-year-old Ayana, whose bodies were discovered Wednesday, 12 days after they went missing. The girls were abducted along with their grandmother, 58-year-old Keiko Miura. The bodies of Miura and the girls were found in Sakaide on Wednesday. Police have arrested Miura's brother-in-law, Masanori Kawasaki, 61, for dumping the victim's bodies. Police said Kawasaki has confessed to killing Miura and the two girls.
