NAGOYA -- A man who attacked a woman on a bicycle and stole her bag containing cash remains at large, police said. A 21-year-old female employee of a live music venue from Nagoya's Nakamura-ku was attacked by a man who approached her from behind as she was pedaling home on a street in Nakamura-ku at around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, local police said. The man grabbed the neck of the woman, toppling her down to the ground, and kicked her in the abdomen. He then took her bag containing about 12,500 yen in cash from a basket at the front of her bicycle and fled the scene, according to investigators. The woman sustained minor injuries, including bruises to the chest. The man appeared to be between 25 and 30 years old and was of thin build, police quoted the victim as saying. He had a soft Mohican-style haircut and was wearing dark clothes. Police are searching for the man on suspicion of robbery. Copyright 2005-2006 THE MAINICHI NEWSPAPERS. All rights reserved.
