MATSUYAMA, Ehime -- A postal worker who wrote messages on the Internet threatening to kill a university professor over trouble during his college days has been arrested, police said. Eiji Nishihara, 33, an employee of Japan Post Service Co. Ltd., stands accused of intimidation. "The professor did not teach me how to write a thesis and my graduation was delayed by half a year, so I have held a grudge against him for a long time. But I didn't intend to kill him," Nishihara was quoted as telling police. According to police, Nishihara, from Shikokuchuo, Ehime Prefecture, posted on the 2-Channel online bulletin board messages on four separate occasions on June 19 threatening to kill a 64-year-old university professor from Ehime Prefecture. The messages that Nishihara posted included, "I will kill him before I die." The professor was a thesis advisor for Nishihara while he was a university student. Nishihara graduated from university in 1997. Copyright 2005-2006 THE MAINICHI NEWSPAPERS. All rights reserved.
