KAWAGOE, Saitama -- A private high school golf team coach faces charges after he smashed a golf drive while knowing his shot could slam into a student, who was hit in the face, police said. Police have sent documents to the prosecutors accusing the 28-year-old coach of inflicting bodily injury on the 17-year-old schoolboy from the Saitama Heisei High School, arguing that he knew the golf shot could have caused harm. Law enforcers initially viewed the incident as a case of professional negligence, but decided to pursue the more serious charge of inflicting bodily injury because of the coach's intent, police said.

It's was not an accident... so the coach should be pursued the more serious charge of inflicting bodily injury because at the first place he know that his smashed could hit the student... and maybe it is his intention to really hit the student..
