NAGOYA -- A seat on a bicycle parked on the premises of a home here has been cut by a vandal in the 53rd such incident in the city since April, police said. Local police suspect that the same person is responsible for all the cases, and are investigating the incidents on suspicion of damaging property. At around 11 p.m. on Monday, a 45-year-old resident of Tenpaku-ku, Nagoya, came out of his home after his pet dog started barking to find the seat on a bicycle belonging to his 10-year-old daughter had been cut. He alerted police at around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Investigators said the seat was cut with a sharp knife. It's the 53rd incident in which a seat on a bicycle was cut by a vandal in the city's Tenpaku-ku since April 6, local police said. Most of the bicycles targeted have been colorful ones for young girls. Copyright 2005-2006 THE MAINICHI NEWSPAPERS. All rights reserved.
