NAGOYA -- A man awaiting trial on obscenity charges has been slapped with a further charge of illegally selling the anti-impotency drug Tadalis SX, police have said. Akihiko Yonesu, 50, self-employed of Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, was charged by the Aichi Prefectural Police with breaking the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law. Yonesu, who has already been indicted for possession of obscene images with intent to sell, admits to the allegations. "I needed money to live on," he told the police. Yonesu is the first person in Japan to be arrested in connection with the unlicensed sale of Tadalis SX, which has not been approved for use in Japan. Police said the specific cases for which Yonesu was arrested involved him advertising the anti-impotency drug on his website for five days around October this year, selling 16 pills on three separate occasions. Tadalis SX is sold overseas and the anti-impotency drug is said to be effective for anywhere from 24 to 36 hours. Yonesu was selling the drug at 2,800 per box of four capsules, or two boxes for 4,800 yen. From early October until his arrest, he sold Tadalis SX to nine people and earned about 30,000 yen.
