A man who stabbed an acquaintance, apparently after years of drunken abuse, has been arrested, law enforcers said. The man, Mitsuo Horiai, 58, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the attack, which took place on a road in Tokyo's Kita-ku at about 7:50 p.m. on Thursday. Investigators say Horiai chased the 60-year-old acquaintance out of a bar brandishing a sashimi knife, stabbing him in the side and leaving him seriously injured. Horiai had reportedly hated the acquaintance for the past five or six years since he would yell at him when drinking. Copyright 2005-2006 THE MAINICHI NEWSPAPERS. All rights reserved.
