OKAYAMA -- A woman was found dead in an apartment here with numerous bruises to her body, police said. The woman has been identified as Asuka Fushimi, 27. Investigators suspect that she was murdered. At around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, local police received an emergency call from a hotel in Okayama reporting that the sheet on a bed in a guest room was stained with blood after a man and a woman staying there checked out at around 5 a.m. Investigators tracked her down from the license plate number of a car that the guest drove to the hotel and visited an apartment she was known to frequent to find her lying face-up on the floor with numerous bruises. They pronounced her dead at the scene. Local police are searching for the man who stayed at the hotel with Fushimi, suspecting that he brought the body to the apartment and dumped it there. The identity of the person who rents the apartment was not immediately known, according to investigators. Copyright 2005-2006 THE MAINICHI NEWSPAPERS. All rights reserved.
