Police arrested an 18-year-old boy for allegedly stabbing a male nurse to death at a psychiatric clinic in Tokyo's Nerima-ku early Wednesday morning, local police said. A 33-year-old male nurse was found lying on the ground and bleeding from the stomach at Yowa Hospital when police officers rushed to the clinic upon receiving an emergency call at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday. The nurse was confirmed dead about four hours later. Police officers arrested an 18-year-old preparatory school student on suspicion of attempted murder after he admitted to stabbing the nurse. The charge was upgraded to murder after the victim was confirmed dead. "I wasn't happy with patients in my hospital room and bought the knife beforehand," he was quoted as telling investigators. Local police are questioning him over the motives behind the killing. The student, who hails from Saitama Prefecture, had been hospitalized in the clinic since July due to depression. According to investigators, the youth stabbed the nurse, who was on night patrol, with a knife in a corridor of the hospital shortly before 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
